Pepper Spray

Pepper spray is the best weapon of selection and both women and men can use it. Either you are just a woman travelling alone, or an elder person vulnerable to attacks you can in effect incapacitate your attacker and leave in the first few seconds. Nobody will want to advent you with negative intentions even if you are living in a rough neighborhood when you have your pepper sprays in hand.

Pepper sprays ordinarily come in small canisters that you can in effect hide below your clothing. Some sprays also come in the form of a ring and varies in drive and sizes. It can be used on animals, together with dogs and bears, and more importantly, on human attackers.

Pepper sprays have aerosol particles that have an active ingredient named Oc or Oleoresin Capsicum, which is found in chili peppers. The heat of the chili peppers that you eat is carefully by the amount of oleoresin capsicum in it and is ordinarily measured in Scoville Units. A pure Capsicum has a heat of 15,000,000 Scoville units and Sprays use between 2,000,000 to 5,000,000 Scoville units. If you are an avid chili pepper or jalapeno eater you ordinarily eat them at 5,000 Scoville units, so imagine how hot a million might be when ingested.

These capsicum inflame the mucous membranes in the area targeted, which are ordinarily the eyes, nose, throat and lungs. This causes your attacker to instantly close his eyes and will temporarily lose his sight. He will also have breathing problems if targeted at his nose and mouth and because of the pungent smell. These effects will ordinarily last from 30 to 40 minutes, but you don't have to wait a little or so before you escape. The occasion you cast your pepper spray's steam on your attacker and he experiences its effects you can more efficiently leave on the first few seconds. How do you settle on your pepper sprays?

You should firstly consider the heat unit rating of the spray distance that it can cover. The higher the heat unit rating it has the more efficiently it can immobilize your attacker and the longer can the effects last. The distance determines how in effect it can reach your attacker. You should all the time choose the maximum distance that the Spray can cover for a more effective disabling. You should also consider the wind direction as it will work on your efficiency.
